The City of Gath, Goliath’s Residence

Archaeological Findings at Tell es-Safi
The City of Gath

The Washington Post has a good article on the excavation at the site of the ancient city of Gath, a Philistine city mentioned in the Bible as the place where the giant Goliath lived.

The excavation, conducted by archaeologist Aren Maeir of Bar-Ilan University, has yielded important artifacts that will help scholars gain a better understanding of Philistine culture and religion.

The article provides information on Philistine culture and society and describes some of the artifacts found at the site.  This is a very informative article.
