Today, August 16, 2021, I celebrate a special day. Today is the 16th anniversary of my blog. When I began blogging, I had no idea that I would still be active these many years. When I began blogging, I was inexperienced about the concept of blogging. My son helped me and taught me how to develop the blog.
At first, I began with Blogger and then transferred to WordPress. It took many weeks and a lot of effort to attract readers to my blog. However, little by little people expressed a desire to know more about the Old Testament. Today, my blog reaches about one million people every year. These readers come from 208 countries and territories.
I have no words to express my appreciation to my readers. People not only read my posts but they share posts on Facebook, Twitter, and other social platforms. I believe that it is because people share my posts with others that my blog is read by so many people.
Let me give you a small overview of how my blog is received by people. My biggest audience are readers from the United States. But last moth, these are the top ten countries where my blog was read:
1. Nigeria. 2. United Kingdom. 3. Brazil. 4. Canada. 5. South Africa.
6. India. 7. Australia. 7. Philippines. 8. Singapore. 9. Kenya. 10. Ireland.
What has contributed to the growth of my blog is the fact that many people all over the world have a genuine desire to learn more about the Old Testament. People love reading the Old Testament. As one who has lived with the Old Testament for more than fifty years, I recognize that I have barely begun opening the riches that we find in this First Testament.
As I continue to blog, I hope to write on topics of interest to readers. I often write series of blogs on topics of interest. The Archive section of the blog contains 42 series of posts on different subjects. I hope to add more series in the coming days.
To celebrate the sixteenth anniversary of my blog, I promised give away six copies of my book, Rereading the Biblical Text: Searching for Meaning and Understanding, during the month of August, 2021.
One free copy of my book will be given on each Monday in August. So far, we have had two winners. Their names are listed below. Two more books will be given away in August. The dates for the next giveaways in August are: August 23 and 30.
