The Bible is the most amazing book in the world. It is the master key that unlocks the riches God has prepared for those who study it and obey its teachings. One biblical writer said that “the word of God is alive and powerful” (Hebrews 4:12).
The Bible contains 66 books; it is a library of books. It was written over a period of more than one thousand years and yet, it is as relevant today as it was when the apostles composed the four gospels that tell about Jesus. In every generation and in every age, the Bible has a message that people need to hear.
The apostle Paul wrote: “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Read again what the Bible can accomplish in our lives. First, it says that the Bible is useful to teach us what is true. There are so many false teachings in this world that people cannot distinguish between what is true and what is false. But when people read the Bible, they discover what truth is all about. Jesus said: “I am the truth. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).
Second, the Bible makes us realize what is wrong in our lives. That may be the reason people are afraid to read the Bible: they don’t want to know what is wrong in their lives. But, in reality, this is the greatest asset of the Bible. By teaching what is wrong with us, it can help us deal with the problems we face.
Third, the Bible corrects us when we are wrong. The Bible teaches us to walk in the right path and live a better life. God wants the best for us and all that we need to live a better life is taught in the Bible. As the apostle Peter wrote: “God has given us everything we need for living a godly life” (2 Peter 1:3). Everything!
Fourth, the Bible teaches us to do what is right. People who live and practice what the Bible teaches will never go wrong. Reading the Bible transforms one’s life. The reading of the Bible produces a renewing of our minds that allows us to abandon evil to follow good. People who read the Bible never again will conform to the standards of this world. Rather, they will be completely transformed inwardly by God.
People are looking for a better life and a better marriage. People struggle with problems every day. People buy self-help books, seek counselors, listen to talk shows and do just about everything to help themselves, except turning to God’s Word for help.
There is no shortcut to unlock God’s riches for you. In the treasure chest of life, the Bible is the master key that can open God’s way of blessing, prosperity, health, and salvation. If you want to unlock God’s riches for you, believe God’s Word. Study the Bible and discover what God has prepared for you.
