On Friday, August 16, 2019 I wrote a post in which I celebrated the fourteenth anniversary of my blog. I received several comments about the post and about the blog. It is nice to have the support of so many readers in this venture.
In that post, I mentioned that my blog was read in 142 countries and territories. But I was mistaken. I checked the readership again for the year 2019, and to my surprise I discovered that in 2019 my blog was read in 208 countries and territories.
I was amazed. This means that what I write is reaching many people who otherwise would have a difficult time finding good biblical material. I believe that my blog provides biblical material that answers many questions Christians have about the Old Testament.
Among the many countries where people are reading my blog are people in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Azerbaijan. Christians are a minority in these seven countries. In addition, I am sure Christians have a difficult time finding good Christian books.
I have decided to give three books to one individual from each of these seven countries. If people are reading my blog they do so because they want to know more about the Old Testament and maybe, because they lack good reading material.
I will give a copy of my book Rereading the Biblical Text to one reader from each of these seven countries. In addition, my friend Scot McKnight, Julius R. Mantey Chair of New Testament at Northern Seminary, will give a copy of his book Open to the Spirit. Then, I will give readers of these seven countries a copy of the book I am preparing for the celebration of the fifteenth anniversary of my blog next year. I thank Scot for his willingness to provide free copies of his book.
If you are a reader of my blog and if you live in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, or Azerbaijan you can receive three books completely free. This is what you must do:
1. Send an email to my email address that appears on my blog and request the books.
2. Send your name and the address to where the books will be mailed.
3. The emails must be sent from one of the countries listed above.
I hope that readers from these seven countries will write and request these free books.
