I am happy to announce that my friend Randy Tumblin has been promoted to Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Northern Seminary. Randy is a goodly man, a man who loves the Lord and who is committed to theological education. Below is the press release put out by Northern Seminary announcing Randy’s promotion:
Congratulations to our new Vice President of Institutional Advancement Randy Tumblin!
We couldn’t be more excited to have Randy with us as we continue to step forward in our call to Equip the church to Change the World. Randy has served in a variety of capacities within Higher Education over the last 30 years and his experience will be a great benefit to Northern and to God’s Kingdom!
Introducing Randy Tumblin
In 2007, having spent a long successful career in Higher Education, Randy felt God calling him to pursue a new form of ministry through Theological Education. In light of this calling, Randy enrolled as a student at Northern with a deep care for worship and spiritual transformation. However, through the influence of his professors, classmates, friends, and family Randy began to see his view of spiritual transformation expand. He discovered that our calling as a Christian community is not limited to the ministries of the Church but open to all the areas of engagement where God leads. To his surprise, God was leading Randy back to the mission field of Higher Education.
This ministry calling came to life for Randy in 2009 after being hired as the Director of Admissions at Northern Seminary. Throughout the last 5 years at Northern, Randy has developed a passion for leadership development and discipleship that has had a profound impact on the students, faculty and staff surrounding him. Thanks to his ministry at Northern, countless lives have been changed.
Speaking openly, when asked what he loves most about Northern Seminary Randy stated. “I like that Northern is distinctively evangelical and deeply missional in its approach to ministry. This unique focus is reshaping the landscape of Theological Education and yet it is only a small part of what makes Northern great. I originally came to Northern because I sensed that it was a grace filled place that takes biblical scholarship, ministry preparation, and spiritual formation very seriously; I have stayed because Northern continues to be a place of grace. I am very excited to be a part of this institution as we continue to respond to the mission that God has lain before us.”
We are extremely grateful for Randy’s work over these last 5 years and we are excited to see what God does through Randy in his new role. Please congratulate and pray for Randy as he begins his new role!
I am happy for Randy and I welcome him to his new position. I am fortunate to work with Randy because every day I can see his love for the Lord and his commitment to help men and women who have come to Northern Seminary to prepare themselves to serve the Lord.
Congratulations, Randy.
