Books I Would Like To Read

There are sixty-six books in the Bible and I have read all of them. But there are several books mentioned in the Bible that I would like to read. These books are mentioned in the Old Testament, but they have not survived.

Here are the books and documents I would like to read:

1. The Book of the Wars of Yahweh (Numbers 21:14)

“Therefore the Book of the Wars of the LORD speaks of … Waheb in Suphah, and the wadis: the Arnon” (Numbers 21:14).

2. The Book of Jashar (Joshua 10:13; 2 Samuel 1:18)

“And the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, until the nation took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jashar?” (Joshua 10:13).

“[David] ordered that the men of Judah be taught this lament of the bow (it is written in the Book of Jashar)” (2 Samuel 1:18).

3. The Book of the Covenant (Exodus 24:7)

“Then [Moses] took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people” (Exodus 24:7).

4. The book of remembrance about the Amalekites (Exodus 17:14)

“Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘Write this as a reminder in a book and recite it in the hearing of Joshua: I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven’” (Exodus 17:14).

5. The book detailing the rights and duties of the king (1 Samuel 10:25)

“Samuel told the people the rights and duties of the kingship; and he wrote them in a book and laid it up before the LORD” (1 Samuel 10:25).

6. The book of remembrance of those who feared the Lord (Malachi 3:16)

“Then those who revered the LORD spoke with one another. The LORD took note and listened, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who revered the LORD and thought on his name” (Malachi 3:16).

7. The book that God wrote (Exodus 32:32)

“But now, if you will only forgive their sin– but if not, blot me out of the book that you have written” (Exodus 32:32).

I wish these books had survived. These books have been lost and now we unable to read them. Our loss.
