A Lecture on the Final Punishment of the Wicked

This weekend I will be in Houston, Texas attending a lecture by Edward Fudge at the Lanier Theological Library.  Fudge is the author of the book The Fire That Consumes: A Biblical and Historical Study of the Doctrine of Final Punishment.

Fudge’s book was recently revised, updated, and enlarged.  The third edition of the book was released by Cascade Books, an imprint of Wipf and Stock.  I mentioned Fudge’s book in my post “The Biblical Doctrine of Hell: Another View.”  I have read Fudge’s book and after I return from Houston, I will publish a review of the book.

The lecture is sponsored by the Lanier Theological Library.  The Library was established by Mark Lanier, a lawyer in Houston.  The Lanier Theological Library is a privately owned resource center with thousands of books.  The library houses “a comprehensive collection of books, periodicals, historical documents and artifacts with topics ranging from Church History and Biblical Studies to Egyptology and Linguistics.” The library promotes a series of lectures, bringing in renowned lecturers from all over the world to speak on current religious issues.

I am sorry I just read this this morning. I read your blog … obviously not daily …. and I checked out where this library is and it’s near the church I attend, which is at the intersection of Hargrave and 249 – Willowbrook Church.

    • Bruce,

You should check the schedule of lectures at the Lanier Theological Library. They have great lectures coming in the next few months. The next one will be on October 29 on the Bible and Evolution.
