I Am Back

As most of you know, my blog has been down for several days because of a vicious script inserted on the theme of my old blog that, without my consent, was promoting some blue pills from a pharmacy in Canada.

For the past three weeks I have been working with the folks at WordPress in order to deal with this problem. As a result, I had to transfer my blog from Go Daddy to WordPress. I hope this new arrangement will eliminate a problem that has caused me a lot of discomfort and embarrassment.

This means that, beginning tomorrow, I will return to a regular schedule. My first project is to conclude my studies on the women prophets in the Old Testament. My next post on this series will be on Miriam the prophetess.

I have several other projects in the planning stages. Recently, a reader asked me if I had written any post on Hagar, the Egyptian slave given to Abraham as a second wife. Looking at the posts I have written, I realized that I have not written any post on Hagar. In order to change this void, I have decided to write two posts on Hagar. They will be published in the coming weeks.

I have been gratified by the good comments I have received from readers, students, and friends about my new book, Rereading the Biblical Text: Searching for Meaning and Understanding . If you have not read my book yet, you can buy a copy at Amazon.com.

I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding during this time of transition. I love the interaction with you who read and comment on my posts. Many of you write with suggestions for future posts. Others prefer to make comments through email. I am delighted to interact with you because I receive much inspiration from your comments and suggestions.

I also would like to thank you for recommending my blog to others. The other day in my own church, a friend came and told me that he recommended my blog to two other people in our congregation. I am very honored and very humbled for the support I receive from each one of you.

I have updated my blog roll. If you blog and would like to exchange links, I would be glad to do so. If you are a present or a former student with a blog, I would love to include you in my blogroll. Just send me your name and your URL and I will include your blog as soon as possible.

Once again, thank you for visiting my blog and reading my posts.

I am so happy to see you up and running again! It is fascinating to understand Biblical passages with a much greater historical context- which you provide with lucidity. Thank you for your work, thank you for distributing your knowledge in the wide, wild web! I went to Catholic school in Puerto Rico and the custom was to let the nuns and priests tell you about the Bible. I have learned to expand on that by reading it myself and listening to scholars like you. Gracias!
