The Shabbat Boundary Stone

Mordechai Aviam, head of the Institute for Galilean Archeology at Kinneret College has announced that an ancient rock was discovered inscribed with the word “Shabbat.” This is the first and only Shabbat boundary stone found with Hebrew letters.

A Shabbat boundary stone is a rock marking the boundaries within which Jews could travel on Shabbat.

The picture above shows the Hebrew inscription on the Shabbat boundary stone.
