>Chris,Thank you for your comment.The discovery of this Canaanite wall may not shed any light on a specific text of the Bible, however, as the archaeologist who discovered the wall said, it will show that Jerusalem was more than just a small village in the Bronze Age.The building of the wall required organization and special labor. People who believe that Jerusalem was only a small village may disagree with this assessment, but the wall confirms that Jerusalem was an organized city-state in the Bronze Age.Claude Mariottini

>I see…so the fact that Jerusalem was an organised city-state during the Bronze Age would lend historical credibility to the Former Prophets' account of David conquering such a city-state and/or to the possibility of there being a mini-Empire centred on Jerusalem under the early Davidic dynasty?

>Chris,That is another benefit of this discovery. Some of the minimalists have said that Jerusalem was a small place when David conquered. I think this walls reveals that Jerusalem was more than just a small village.Claude Mariottini
