The Jordan Lead Codices: They Are Fakes

The discovery of the Jordan lead codices made news recently because they were proclaimed to be an example of early Christian writing.

Recently, Tom Verenna had produced a video that clearly demonstrates that the Jordan lead codices are fakes.

Readers who have been following the story of the lead codices should watch the short video below.

UPDATE

Tom Varenna’s video is no longer available. Recent studies have lead some scholars to identify the lead codices with the Bar Kokhba revolt. Simon Bar Kokhba was the leader of the Jewish revolt against the Roman Empire in 132 B.C.

The video below explains how the Jordan lead codices is related to the Bar Kokhba revolt.

    • Richard,

Thank you for this information. Tom Varenna’s video is no longer available. Recent studies have lead some scholars to identify the lead codices with the Bar Kokhba revolt. In its place, I have posted a video that links the Jordan lead codices with the Bar Kokhba revolt.
